The Spain Park High School girls’ tennis team edged rival Hoover 5-4 in high school tennis action April 12.

Olivia Cissell of Spain Park defeated Ria Bennett of Hoover 9-8 (7-3) in the No. 1 singles’ match. Lauren Schroeder of Spain Park fell to Courtney Schrock of Hoover 8-2 in the No. 2 singles’ match.

Lulu Zhang of Spain Park fell to Hallie Lee of Hoover 8-4 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Madison Luther of Spain Park defeated Madison Bamman of Hoover 8-4 in the No. 4 singles’ match.

Tierney Sovic of Spain Park defeated Bria Poe of Hoover 8-0 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Kensley Yarbrough of Spain Park fell to Julianna Dinsmore of Hoover 8-5 in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Cissell and Schroeder defeated Bennett and Bamman 10-8 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Luther and Sovic defeated Schrock and Lee 11-9 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.

Zhang and Yarbrough fell to Dinsmore and Allison St. John of Hoover 10-4 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
