The Thompson High School baseball team edged Oak Mountain 4-3 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A, Area 10 contest April 9.

Tyler Gamble led the Warriors offensively as he finished 3-for-4 at the plate. Gamble drove in one run and scored one run in the victory.

Garrett Walters, who drove in one run and scored one run, finished 1-for-3 at the plate.

Jake Walters earned the win on the mound after giving up three runs, including two earned runs, on three hits with seven strikeouts and five walks in five innings.

Hunter Rigney earned the save after giving up just one hit with one strikeout and one walk in two innings in relief.

David Dahl led the Eagles offensively as he finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a triple. Dahl drove in one run and scored two runs.

Jay Thompson and Connor O’Brien each finished 1-for-3 at the plate. Thompson also scored one run.

Justin Hoyt took the loss after giving up four runs, including three earned runs, on seven hits with seven strikeouts and five walks in a complete game.
