Hornets fall to Sylacauga in area contest

The Chelsea High School baseball team fell to Sylacauga 3-2 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 5A, Area 7 contest April 9, setting up a do or die situation for both teams.
The winner of the series finale April 11 will be the Class 5A, Area 7 runnerup and will make the Class 5A playoffs.
Chelsea was led offensively by Austin Dean, who was 1-for-3 with a solo homerun.
Tripp Hobbs was 1-for-3 with a double. Davis Shoemaker was also 1-for-3 with a double. Brody Holder went 1-for-3 and drove in one run. Keelan Gregg also went 1-for-3 for Chelsea.
Joey Mock took the loss on the mound for the Hornets. Mock threw six innings, giving up three unearned runs on five hits with six strikeouts and five walks.
