The Spain Park High School baseball team defeated Homewood 6-2 in its Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A, Area 12 opener March 27.

Mikey White led the Jaguars at the plate as he finished 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles in the victory.

Will McDonald went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and drove in two runs. Hunter Hall finished 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in one run. Grant Veteto finished 1-for-4 with a double. Josh Close scored two runs.

Hall earned the win on the mound after giving up just two earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts and one walk in a complete-game victory.
