A Georgia-based distribution company is finalizing construction of a new $18 million facility in Alabaster’s Shelby West Corporate Park.

The Alabama Crown Distributing Company, which is the Alabama branch of the Georgia Crown Distributing Company, will bring about 75 jobs to Alabaster. The Alabaster facility likely will open this summer, said Alabaster Mayor David Frings.

According to the Georgia Crown website, the company wholesale distributes liquor, wine, beer and other beverages, such as spring water and juices.

“These types of businesses are great when they come into your city,” Frings said. “This is an element of our business family that I’ve been wanting to build for some time.”
