Panthers win tournament opener

The Pelham High School baseball team defeated St. Cloud High School of Orlando, Fla., 6-0 in its opening game in a spring break tournament March 19 in Panama City.
Tanner Jackson led the Panthers (20-0) at the plate as he went 2-for-4 with a double. Jackson drove in one run and scored one run in the victory.
Fletcher Johnson finished 2-for-3 at the plate. Johnson finished with one stolen base and scored one run. Hunter Stovall also recorded a hit.
Sam Finnerty earned the win on the mound after giving up just six hits with five strikeouts a complete-game shutout.
