The Cornerstone Christian School baseball team defeated Bessemer Academy 7-6 in extra innings in high school baseball action March 12.

In the top of the seventh inning, Auston Wingard doubled home Austin Davis and Chase Payne to tie the game up. In the top of the ninth inning, Wingard sacrificed Payne home for the game-winning run.

Wingard finished 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in two runs. Austin Davis went 2-for-3. Dalton Lodge hit his first homer of the season in the victory.

Tim Warren earned the win after not giving up a hit with six strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
