The Montevallo High School baseball team swept a doubleheader with Shades Mountain Christian and Verbena in high school baseball action March 10.

The Bulldogs (11-2) defeated Shades Mountain Christian 10-1.

Zach Smith led Montevallo as he went 2-for-3 at the plate. Smith drove in two runs and scored two runs in the victory.

Eric Smith went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored.

Taylor Burr earned the win on the mound after giving up just one unearned run on three hits with 10 strikeouts and three walks in a complete-game victory.

Montevallo defeated Verbena 10-0.

Zach Smith led the Bulldogs at the plate as he went 2-for-4 with a double and drove in seven runs in the victory.

Chase Hamrick, who drove in two runs and scored two runs, finished 3-for-4 at the plate with two doubles. Zack Sweat, who drove in one run and scored one run, finished 2-for-3 at the plate.

Trevor Chatham earned the win on the mound after pitching a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts and only one walk in the shutout.
