The Spain Park High School baseball team defeated Sparkman 9-6 in 16 innings in high school baseball action March 9.

Grant Veteto led the Jaguars at the plate as he went 5-for-8 and scored a pair of runs.

Dustin Cowart, who drove in three runs and scored one run, went 3-for-7 at the plate. Paul Angel went 3-for-7 and scored two runs. Josh Close finished 3-for-9 and drove in one run.

Hunter Hall and Will McDonald added two hits each.

Trey Hawker earned the win on the mound in relief after giving up just one earned run on three hits in three innings.

Starter Hunter Hall allowed two earned runs on eight hits with 10 strikeouts and four walks in seven innings. Mikey White allowed one unearned run on four hits with 10 strikeouts and four walks in six innings in relief.
