Jimmy D. Bowlin Sr., 62, of Pell City passed away peacefully on March 4, 2012 in Birmingham.

He was reared in Dogwood, married Linda Massey and reared their family in Alabaster. He was a Vietnam veteran and recipient of the Bronze Star.

His is survived by wife, Linda Massey Bowlin; son, Jimmy D. Bowlin Jr. (Layne) of Fort Knox, Ky.; and daughter, Christy Bowlin-Henault (Martin) of Boston, Mass. He is survived by children, Amanda Bowlin, Sandra Jo Bowlin, M. Ann (Annie) Bowlin; by friend Monica Blackerby Vernon of Pell City; and son Marty McGee (Shonda) of Mobile.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Eli and Effie Bowlin; parents, Harvey G.Bowlin and Clara Primm Morris; sister, Patti Gibson; grandson, Brody Bowlin-McGuffie; and grandchildren, Private Anthony Bowlin, Summer Bowlin, Andrew Henault, Sebastien Henault, Eli Bowlin, Allyson Bowlin and Katylin Bowlin.

Visitation will be held March 7 at Rockco’s Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be Thursday, March 8 at Rockco’s at noon, and burial will be in Alabama National Cemetery Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 1:15 p.m. Service will be officiated by Rev.
