Chargers sweep doubleheader in tournament

The Cornerstone Christian School softball team swept Hooper Academy and Kingwood Christian in the Prattville Christian tournament March 1.
The Chargers defeated Hooper Academy 8-0 in their tournament opener.
Jana Armstrong led the Chargers at the plate as she went 2-for-3 with a double. Armstrong drove in a run and scored a run.
Destiny Upton went 1-for-2 with a homer and drove in two runs.
Destiny Dillard earned the win after giving up just two hits with three strikeouts and two walks in a three-inning complete game.
Cornerstone Christian defeated Kingwood Christian 2-1 in the nightcap.
Armstrong led the Chargers at the plate as she went 2-for-2 and drove in a run. Armstrong also earned the win in the circle after giving up just one earned run on five hits with four strikeouts in a five-inning complete-game victory.
Kayla Ingram took the loss for the Lions after giving up two earned runs on six hits with six strikeouts and two walks in five innings.
