Calera splits doubleheader with Jemison

The Calera High School baseball team split a doubleheader with Jemison in high school baseball action Feb. 27.

The Eagles defeated Jemison 8-3 in the opening game.

Keith Dowdell led Calera at the plate as he finished 3-for-4 with a triple and a double. Dowdell drove in two runs in the victory.

Jeremy Hyde went 2-for-4 with a homer and drove in three runs.

Michael Marfice earned the win on the mound after giving up two earned runs on four hits with five strikeouts and three walks in a complete-game victory.

Calera fell to Jemison 11-1 in the nightcap.

Hyde led the Eagles at the plate as he went 2-for-3 and drove in a run. J.R. Seay finished 1-for-3 at the plate.

Jacob Danley took the loss on the mound.
