The Spain Park High School softball team defeated Homewood 12-0 in its season-opening game Feb. 23.

Erin Hornsby led the Jaguars (1-0) at the plate after going 3-for-4 with a double. Hornsby drove in three runs and scored two runs in the victory.

April Scott finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a double. Scott drove in two runs and scored two runs.

Haleigh Sisson and Julie Knight combined to pitch a five-inning no-hitter.

Sisson earned the win in the circle after striking out six batters and issuing one walk in three innings. Knight struck out two batters in two innings in relief.
