Cornerstone brings history to life

Adams said the museum is one of the more interesting events the school hosts during the year.
“We tend to encourage kids to learn on their own. You can’t force a kid to learn,” he said. “Our teachers are more guides for the students.
Melanie Goodwin, whose fourth-grade daughter Lillian has participated in the living wax museum for the past two years, has helped with decorations and costumes since the project began.
“Their minds really are like sponges. It goes to show just how much they can learn when they portray these people,” she said.
Davis gave credit to student parents whom she affectionately refers to as ‘her moms’ or ‘her parents’ who helped decorate and create detailed costumes for each student.
“My parents deserve a lot of credit, they have been a big help,” she said.
