Historical training provided in Montevallo Feb. 24

MONTEVALLO – History buffs are invited to attend CAMP at the Parnell Memorial Library Feb. 24.
CAMP, Commission Assistance and Mentoring Program, is hosted by the city of Montevallo, the Montevallo Historic Preservation Commission and the Alabama Historical Commission with funding from the National Park Service.
The program is a training program provided by the National Alliance of Preservation Commission. National speakers will provide expertise on topics such as legal basics, the role of commissioners as public servants, meeting procedures and public support.
Guest speakers include Ken Kocher, the principal of Piedmont Preservation, a historic preservation consulting; Robin Zeigler, who serves on the Nashville-Davidson County Metropolitan Historic Zoning Commission; and James K. Reap, a Georgia attorney who specializes in historic preservation issues.
