Eagles sweep doubleheader against Tuscaloosa County

The Oak Mountain High School baseball team swept its season-opening doubleheader with Tuscaloosa County in high school baseball action Feb. 20.
The Eagles (2-0) defeated Tuscaloosa County 7-1 in the opening game.
Josh Floyd led the Eagles at the plate as he finished 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Floyd also had a stolen base.
Heath Quinn, who drove in two runs, and Will Skaggs, who had one RBI, each finished with a double and scored a run. David Dahl finished with a single and scored two runs.
Justin Hoyt earned the win on the mound after giving up just one run on six hits in five innings with five strikeouts. Cameron Bice didn’t allow a hit or a run in the final two innings on the mound.
Oak Mountain topped Tuscaloosa County 7-6 in eight innings in the nightcap.
Austin Howard finished 1-for-4 at the plate and drove in two runs, including the game-winning RBI in the eighth inning.
Richard Greene led the Eagles at the plate after going 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
Dahl finished 2-for-3 with a double and scored two runs. Dahl also had two stolen bases.
