Spain Park falls to rival Hoover in tennis opener

The Spain Park High School girls’ tennis team fell to Hoover 5-4 in its season-opening match Feb. 14.
The Jaguars won three singles’ matches and one doubles’ match against the Bucs.
Ria Bennett of Hoover defeated Olivia Cissell of Spain Park 10-2 in the No.1 singles’ match. Courtney Schrock of Hoover defeated Lulu Zhang of Spain Park 10-0 in the No. 2 singles’ match.
Lauren Schroeder of Spain Park defeated Madison Bamman of Hoover 10-5 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Madison Luther of Spain Park defeated Hallie Lee of Hoover 10-3 in the No. 4 singles’ match.
Tierney Sovic of Spain Park defeated Ellie Lushington of Hoover 10-4 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Julianna Dinsmore of Hoover defeated Kensley Yarbrough of Spain Park 10-4 in the No. 6 singles’ match.
Bennett and Bamman defeated Schroeder and Cissell 10-7 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Lee and Schrock defeated Luther and Sovic 10-1 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.
Zhang and Yarbrough defeated Bria Poe and Olivia Jones of Hoover 10-5 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
