MONTEVALLO – The Centrala Garden Club of Montevallo met Tuesday, Feb. 7 at the home of Lea Ann Webb.
The program was presented by Libbie Rodgers, co-chair of the steering committee for the Learning Enrichment Garden that will be located adjacent to the Parnell Memorial Library in Montevallo. She explained to the members of the club that this garden will be an educational, environmental and beautification project that will benefit the residents of Montevallo, library patrons, students at all levels, businesses and communities downstream of Montevallo.
Master Gardener Joan Pickett, a member of Centrala Garden Club, is on the steering committee and will assist with coordinating volunteers who will maintain the garden. The Centrala Garden Club will be active in supporting this project as it develops. The engineering plans have been developed by Greening Urban, LLC, and the garden design and planting plans have been developed by the Fockele Garden Company, recognized as a national leader in sustainable garden design.
