The Cornerstone Christian School boys’ basketball team defeated Jackson Academy 66-42 in its opening game in the Alabama Independent Schools Association Class 1A, Region 1 tournament Feb. 3.

Kendall Moore led Cornerstone Christian with a game-high 34 points in the victory.

Hagan Joiner added 14 points in the win. Auston Wingard chipped in nine points.

GIRLS

The Cornerstone Christian School girls’ basketball team defeated Jackson Academy 51-17 in its opening game in the Alabama Independent Schools Association Class 1A, Region 1 tournament Feb. 3.

Savannah Upton led the Chargers (11-10) with a game-high 20 points in the victory.
