Four Mile – The Fourmile Fire Department will host a pancake breakfast and 9/11 memorial on Feb. 4 from 7–10 a.m.
A portion of the steel from the World Trade Center will be on display at the firehouse located at 941 Shelby County 55. The general public is welcome to come and witness a piece of American history.
“We will have the opportunity to host it on Saturday, we feel like it’s worth them seeing a piece of history,” said Justin Glass, with the Fourmile Fire Department.
According to Glass, the department has invited several schools to come out and see the WTC steel as well.
The pancake breakfast is the department’s monthly fundraiser and attendees who wish to enjoy pancakes will be charged $5. There will be no charge for those who only wish to see the 9/11 memorial. The proceeds from the breakfast will benefit the fire department.
“Some of the funds will go to help us pay for some equipment to go on our new fire truck,” Glass said.
