The Briarwood Christian School girls’ basketball team defeated Talladega 63-35 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 5A, Area 7 contest Jan. 24.

Hannah Wainwright led the Lions (18-4 overall, 7-0 in Class 5A, Area 7) with a game-high 19 points in the victory.

Abbie Cutcliffe added 12 points in the win.

BOYS

The Briarwood Christian School boys’ basketball team fell to Talladega 60-51 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 5A, Area 7 contest Jan. 24.

Jason Laatsch led the Lions (13-12 overall, 2-5 in Class 5A, Area 7) with a game-high 23 points.

Raymond Woods added 15 points.
