Walton said Morris was accepted recently into the honors program at the University of Montevallo.

“She had such a broad range of friends. She never met a stranger,” Walton said. “Through this whole experience, I have met so many people that have said how they’ve been affected by Parker and how she’s affected their lives in ways they’ll always be thankful for.”

Walton asked Morris’ friends to write down memories of her daughter for her to compile into a book.

“When it feels overwhelming, I want to be able to pick up the book and read something about Parker,” she said. “I told them, ‘Y’all overwhelm me with papers. I want a mountain of things about my daughter.”

An informal Celebration of Life service will be held at Christian Life Fellowship Church, located at 7374 U.S. 31 in Calera, on Saturday, Jan. 28, beginning at 1 p.m. Friends and family are asked to bring pictures, videos, mementos, stories, etc., to contribute to the celebration of her life.

Morris is survived by her sister, Sydney Morris of New Orleans, La.; mother, Elaine D. Walton of Calera; father, Charles Morris of San Diego, Calif.; uncle Daryl Walton (Tracy) of Orange Beach; grandparents, Wanda Posey (Joey) of Calera; Ronnie Walton (Sheila) of Foley; cousins Amanda and Nicole Walton; and special friends Terry Cleckler of Clanton and Scotty Free of Pell City; and extended family and friends too numerous to count.
