VINCENT – On Dec. 29 a female Chelsea High School student who is a Vincent resident was reported as a runaway according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators believe that she is avoiding law enforcement to prevent being picked up and returned home.
“We look at each of these cases and determine a level of risk. It doesn’t mean she’s not at risk. It’s a different circumstance. She’s actively avoiding us,” Captain Ken Burchfield said.
According to Burchfield, the girl has a previous history of similar events and law enforcement officers are actively trying to locate her.
Burchfield said the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office will release the girl’s name, age and photo if public assistance is needed to locate her.
