The Spain Park High School girls’ basketball team defeated Thompson 48-29 in high school basketball action Jan. 3.

Ashley Gaston led the Jaguars (12-8) with 14 points in the victory.

Whitney Gulledge added 12 points. Victoria Baldwin chipped in six points and a team-high 14 rebounds.

Jessica Freeman contributed five points. Jasmine Moore, who grabbed 10 rebounds, and Kathryn Boswell finished with four points each. Denisha Morgan added three points in the win.

Kiarra Pettway led the Warriors (9-8) with eight points and seven rebounds.

Hannah Oglesby added seven points. KaDeisha Stowes chipped in four points.

Sophia Cingoranelli and Kat Cingoranelli finished with three points each. Rachel Lawley and Katie Guiser contributed two points each.

BOYS

The Thompson High School boys’ basketball team defeated Spain Park 52-47 in overtime in high school basketball action Jan. 3.

Jaylon Jones led the Warriors (13-5) with 13 points in the victory.

Demarcus Threatt added 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds in the win.

Kenny Nabors chipped in 10 points. Marcus Lewis and Jaalen Jones contributed six points each.

Tyler Coleman finished with three points. Caleb Johnson added two points in the win.

Chris Thomas and De’Andre Gamble finished with two rebounds each.

Blake Dudchock led the Jaguars (12-7) with 14 points.

Rembert Martin added nine points. Eric Washington and Robby Prater chipped in five points each.

Austin Jones and Jonathon Troulias finished with four points each. Deion Wright and Sean Taylor contributed three points each.
