Jenny Miller, executive director of the Shelby Humane Society, will be featured in the nationally published Women’s World magazine Jan. 2 issue.

Miller won the nationwide Beneful Dream Dog Park Contest earlier this year and received $10,000 and a year’s supply of dog food, both of which she donated to the animal shelter.

Miller and Honey Belle, Miller’s adopted shepherd mix, also won $500,000 in renovations for a local dog park in the area.

Some of the amenities that Miller and Honey Belle wish to see in the new dog park include an agility course, water feature, training center, a do-it-yourself doggie wash, a clubhouse where pet owners and pets can socialize and walkways made of bricks that will commemorate deceased family pets.

The renovations will be finalized in the spring of 2012.
