Vincent – Christal Slippers, an in-home care and cleaning service, is the newest business to open in downtown Vincent.

Stephen Lowery, operations director of Christal Slippers, said the business began solely as an in-home care service and evolved into a cleaning service after facing some financial challenges in October. Lowery has been working with Christal Slippers for four months.

According to the business website christals-slippers.com, Christal Hollis Hill, a 1993 Vincent High School graduate, started the company because she saw a need for it in the community.

“Our roots are here,” Lowery said. “The price was right and the location put us back in our roots.”

The business, located next door to the Vincent Police Department, opened its doors three weeks ago. According to Lowery, their employment base has gone up with 15-20 new hires and they are still looking to hire more.

“From the molding on the ceilings down to the baseboards and everything in between. We basically sanitize the home,” said Lowery.

According to Lowery the business has a competitive price structure when compared to other cleaning services. “We bill by the hour and our competitors bill by the square foot.”

Christal Slippers services can also be found using Groupon.com. Lowery said that the discount website has become a dependable marketing tool and his customer base has grown as a result.
