The office of Shelby County Property Tax Commissioner Don Armstrong will be closed on Friday, Dec. 23, Monday, Dec. 26, Friday, Dec. 30, and Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Armstrong said citizens can pay taxes due at the end of the year online at the Shelby County Property Tax Commissioner’s website, which is accessible through the Shelbyal.com home page. Taxes online can be paid with a credit card or through an e-check.

Armstrong also said his office has a drop box into which citizens can deposit tax payments, located at 102 Depot St., Columbiana.
