Jaguars take down rival Eagles

The Spain Park High School girls’ basketball team defeated rival Oak Mountain 62-46 in high school basketball action Dec. 9.
Spain Park senior guard Jessica Freeman led the Jaguars (6-5) with a career-high 39 points, including a record 9-of-13 performance from beyond the arc, in the victory. Freeman, who finished 13-of-18 from the field, scored 25 points in the opening half.
Ashley Gaston, who finished 2-of-4 from 3-point range and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe, added 10 points in the win.
Whitney Gulledge added six points. Jasmine Moore and Victoria Baldwin chipped in three points each. Kathryn Boswell chipped in one point and a team-high four assists.
Jasmine Hollis grabbed a team-high five rebounds.
Madison Pierce led Oak Mountain with 13 points. Pierce also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Mackenzie Garmany added 12 points. Julia Ferguson chipped in nine points and three rebounds. Hannah Griffin contributed six points.
Jemaiya Lee finished with four points and two boards. Meagan McDanal finished with two points.
BOYS

Robby Prater led the Jaguars (7-5) with 12 points in the victory.
Graham McArthur led Oak Mountain with nine points.
