The University of Montevallo men’s soccer team was selected as the No. 5 seed in the Southeast Region and will travel to No. 4 seed Mars Hill College in the opening round of the NCAA Division II tournament Nov. 9.

The Falcons (12-4-4), who will face Mars Hill at 6 p.m., are one of just 32 teams nationwide to be selected to the tournament.

The winner of the Montevallo/Mars Hill match will move on to face No. 1 seed Coker College at Coker on Nov. 11. The Southeast Region championship match is scheduled for Nov. 13.

The berth marks the Falcons’ sixth trip to the NCAA Division II tournament. Montevallo is 2-3-3 all-time in NCAA tournament competition and advanced to the national semifinals in 2007.
