Smith 50th

Robert M. and Phyllis Smith celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a quiet family dinner hosted by their children. The couple was married on Nov. 4, 1961 in Clarksburg, WV. They have resided in Maylene since 1973. They have four children, Vicki Powell, Debi (deceased), Michael and Mark Smith. They have five grandchildren, Kristina and Sarah Tucker, Justin Powell, Hannah Smith and Tyler Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Karsyn and Devyn Johnson.

Mr. Smith worked for F. W. Woolworth (Woolco) for 30 years, retiring from the Bessemer store. Mrs. Smith retired from Bessemer State Technical College where she was an administrative secretary.
