Warriors claim Mid-South tournament championship

The Thompson High School volleyball team racked up five wins on its way to claiming the Mid-South tournament championship title Sept. 3.
Thompson defeated Gardendale 27-25, 25-15 in the championship match.
Kelsea Bivins led the Warriors with eight kills in the victory.
Hailey Schatz added six kills and five service aces in the match. Sonia Acosta led Thompson with 15 assists.
The Warriors defeated Northridge 23-25, 25-16, 15-9 to reach the championship match.
Schatz led Thompson with 11 kills in the victory. Jade Douglas added nine kills.
Kasie Holcomb chipped in a team-high four digs. Douglas finished with two blocks and two service aces. Acosta registered a team-high 21 assists.
Thompson picked up a 25-16, 25-18 win over Spain Park in the tournament.
Douglas, Schatz and Bivins recorded four kills each in the victory.
Holcomb recorded three digs. Acosta finished with three service aces and a team-high 12 assists.
Thompson defeated Tuscaloosa County 25-10, 21-25, 15-8 in the tournament.
Douglas led the Warriors with 10 kills. Schatz and Katie Guiser posted five kills each.
Holcomb finished with a team-high five digs. Bivins led Thompson with three blocks. Guiser finished with two blocks.
Schatz posted three service aces and Acosta chipped in a team-high 15 assists.
The Warriors defeated Gardendale 22-25, 25-23, 15-5 in the tournament.
Douglas led Thompson with 14 kills in the victory. Schatz added seven kills.
Holcombe finished with five digs. Acosta added four service aces and a team-high 25 assists in the match.
The Jaguars fell to Clay-Chalkville 16-25, 25-22, 8-15 in their opening game before being swept by Thompson 16-25, 18-25.
Spain Park also fell to Northridge 23-25, 25-15, 11-15 in a match before closing the tournament with a 25-23, 15-25, 10-15 loss to Gardendale.
Kylie Beaubien led the Jaguars with 23 kills in the tournament. Beaubien also recorded a team-high 13 blocks.
Morgan Scott finished with 14 kills, 13 digs and six blocks in the tournament. Brooklyn Hall added 10 kills, 11 digs, five service aces and three blocks.
Emily Ingram finished with 24 digs. Chandler Horton contributed a team-high 28 assists.
