The Calera High School volleyball team defeated Jemison 25-22, 25-13, 25-14 in its first Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 4A, Area 7 match Sept. 1.

Sophomore A’Kia Harris led the Eagles (11-2 overall, 1-0 in Class 4A, Area 7) with 13 kills in the victory. Harris also finished with five service aces.

Sophomore Caitlin Ryan added six kills. Junior Amber Sherman recorded five kills and seven digs in the match.

Junior Elizabeth Rhinehart posted a team-high 10 digs. Senior Kellie Rasmussen registered four service aces and seven digs to go along with a team-high 27 assists.
