The Kingwood Christian School volleyball team defeated Tuscaloosa Academy 25-17, 20-25, 28-26, 25-20 in an Alabama Independent Schools Association Class 2A, Region 2 match Aug. 30.

Freshman Katie Allen Etheridge led the Lions (4-1 overall, 1-1 in AISA Class 2A, Region 2) with nine kills in the victory.

Junior Casey Whitmer added seven kills in the match. Whitmer also finished with six service aces and three blocks in the match.

Senior Karley Chamblee contributed four kills and four service aces to go along with a team-high 19 assists.
