Beef recall includes some Alabama stores

The National Beef Packing Company issued an Aug. 12 recall for approximately 60,424 pounds of ground beef products that may contain E. coli, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
Ground beef chubs produced July 23 with a freeze by date of Aug. 12, and ground beef chubs produced July 25 with a freeze by date of Aug. 14 are subject to the recall, according to the FSIS.
According to the FSIS, these products may have been sold at Kroger, Publix and Winn Dixie stores in Alabama.
The ground beef was produced at the National Beef Packing Company’s production facility in Dodge City, Kan.
Kroger and Publix stores in Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee are also subject to the recall, as are Winn Dixie stores in Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi.
Sam’s Club and Walmart stores in Alabama are not listed for the recall, though stores in other states are included.
