University of Montevallo women’s golfer Tracey Marshall recently finished in eighth place in a field of 68 golfers at the New Hampshire Women’s Golf Association Championship July 26-28 in Stratham, N.H.

Marshall, a Newfields, N.H. native, shot a 79 in the opening round of the tournament before carding an 87 in round two and an 83 in the final round to finish with a three-round score of 249.

Marshall sat in fourth place after day one of competition with her round of 79. After a tough day two, Marshall rallied in the third round to finish just two strokes out of seventh place and 13 strokes behind the leader.

Marshall returns to Montevallo this fall with three years of eligibility remaining. During the 2010-2011 season, Marshall finished with the second-lowest stroke average on the team and had one top-five finish.
