A woman was killed this morning around 8:30 a.m. on Interstate 20 eastbound near the 140-mile marker near Leeds, according to Alabama State Trooper spokesman Cpl. Steve Smith.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as Debbie Hayes Labin, 51, of Vincent.

The Alabama State Troopers office received a phone call at 8:29 a.m. According to Smith, the driver of the vehicle appeared to have driven off the road and in to a tree. The driver was the only person in the vehicle and the only person involved in the accident.
