A 4 year-old girl died Tuesday in an accidental drowning in the Pea Ridge community.

Authorities responded to the 5800 block of Highway 10 and found the girl unresponsive, according to a news release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, which responded to the scene with Montevallo fire and rescue and Regional Paramedical Services.

The girl, whose name hasn’t been released, was transported to Shelby Baptist Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

An investigation found the girl had accidentally fallen into a neighbor’s pool, according to the sheriff’s office.
