Pelham police, Motley Crue holding food drive, fundraiser for storm victims

The Pelham Police Department and the Verizon Wireless Music Center are teaming up with one of the biggest names in rock to help those affected by the state’s April 27 tornado outbreak.

During the Motley Crue concert July 9 at the music center, the organizations will hold the Food, Crue and Tattooed Food Drive to help those still reeling from the storms.

The police department will be accepting all non-perishable food items to donate to the Salvation Army.

The department will also he holding a raffle and silent auction at the venue’s Charter Stage before the concert. Raffle tickets are $5 each, and all silent auction items will be purchased separately.

Raffle items include Motley Crue-autographed items, free passes to the Pelham Racquet Club, free golf and cart rental at Ballantrae Golf Club, free skate admission and rental at the Pelham Civic Complex, Alabama and Auburn autographed items, items autographed by Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney, a $100 gift card to Bama Fever, movie passes to AmStar Cinemas in Alabaster and items autographed by Bobby Cox.

Other raffle items include a YMCA three-month membership, bowling parties at Oak Mountain Lanes, a gift certificate to The Hair Station in Helena, a Walmart gift card, a wing party at Hooters and gift certificates to Nino’s restaurant in Pelham.

Raffle tickets can be purchased in advance by filling out the raffle purchase form (attached below) and mailing $5 cash or check made out to The Salvation Army to the Pelham Police Department, Attn: Jennifer Smith, 32 Philip Davis Street, Pelham, Ala., 35124.
