COLUMBIANA – The Columbiana Beautification Board’s annual city cleanup day is Saturday, June 11 from 7 to 10 a.m.
Volunteers will meet at the gazebo in front of City Hall. Trash bags, bottled water, cookies and a free t-shirt will be provided.
Volunteers will divide into teams to cover the entire downtown area and the roads leading into the city.
“What we like to do is have groups from churches and civic organizations to help,” said District 5 City Councilwoman Ouida Mayfield. “If high school students help, we can give them an information sheet saying they’ve done so many hours of community service.”
The day typically draws 25 to 40 volunteers, Mayfield said.
Mayfield encouraged interested volunteers to call her in advance at 669-7813.
