Montevallo tennis players named to all-academic team

The University of Montevallo women’s tennis team had one athlete named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic team while three were named honorable mentions.

Senior Calli Robinson was named to the All-Academic team, while senior Kodi Bobo, sophomore Amy McGucken and junior Helene Nordgreen were honorable mention selections.

Robinson holds a 3.84 grade point average in communication studies at Montevallo. She is the first women’s tennis player at Montevallo to be named to the PBC All-Academic team. Bobo holds a 3.68 GPA in art at Montevallo. McGucken holds a 3.35 GPA in English while Nordgreen has a 3.72 GPA in finance.

The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of Peach Belt Conference student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must participate in at least half of his/her team’s events and be either a starter or significant contributor, have achieved a 3.20 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale and 3 and have completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution.

The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee and select the teams.
