CALERA – The Vibe Salon is normally closed Wednesdays, but the Calera business is making an exception May 25 to raise money for disaster relief.
The salon is offering a complimentary 30-minute massage or scalp-massaging shampoo, cut and style for a minimum $35 tax-deductible donation to the Red Cross to help those affected by last month’s tornado outbreak.
Vibe Salon will match all cash donations at 100 percent and all Neuma Hair Care product sales at 15 percent.
Doors open at 8 a.m. and will remain open until every customer contributing to the Red Cross is served.
Also May 25, the salon will have Red Cross collection bins on site for non-perishable food items, clothes and other items for disaster victims.
“Considering the recent disaster that affected so many in Alabama and throughout the country, we wanted to donate our talents in a way that will help rebuild communities,” salon owner and Calera resident Tonya Turcotte wrote in a press release.
“We invite the local community to join us at the salon and receive our pampering in return for their generosity towards the Red Cross and those in need,” Turcotte added.
Vibe Salon is located in Calera at 10313 Highway 22, Unit A.
