Eagles swept in region tournament

The Calera High School softball team was eliminated from the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 4A South Central Region tournament May 14 following back-to-back losses to Holtville and Bibb County in Troy.
The Eagles fell to Holtville 15-2 in their opening game of the tournament.
Jocelyn Davis led Calera at the plate as she finished 1-for-2 at the plate with a homer. DAvis drove in one run and scored one run in the defeat.
Anna Seabury finished 1-for-2 at the plate and scored one run. Shelby Clark went 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and drove in one run.
Katie Eiland took the loss after giving up nine earned runs on 12 hits with a strikeout and two walks in 3 1/3 innings in the circle.
Somer Roberson allowed three unearned runs with a strikeout and a walk in 2/3 of an inning.
Calera dropped its final game in the tournament to Bibb County 16-2.
Skyler Laird and Kymber McGiboney each finished 1-for-3 at the plate and scored one run.
Davis went 1-for-3 at the plate and drove in one run.
Eiland took the loss after giving up 15 earned runs on 15 hits with four strikeouts and five walks in a complete game.
