North Shelby County is under a tornado warning until 6:30 p.m.

According to the National Weather service, at 5:31 p.m. Storm Spotters were tracking a large tornado on the ground near Brookwood.

Radar showed the tornado moving northeast at 55 mph.

“To protect your life, take cover now,” the NWS release read. “For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.”
