The Oak Mountain High School girls’ soccer team defeated Homewood 2-0 in a Class 6A, Section 5 soccer match April 21.

Megan Dancy scored in the first half for Oak Mountain (15-3 overall, 8-2 in Class 6A, Section 5) on an assist from Bailee Harnett.

In the second half, Meghan Sweatt headed a ball at the net and scored off a corner kick from Harnett.

Oak Mountain goalkeepers Jill Hester and Chandler Ingam combined for five saves in the shutout.

BOYS

The Oak Mountain High School boys’ soccer team edged Homewood 2-1 in a Class 6A, Section 5 soccer match April 21.

Donny Maciel led the Eagles (17-4 overall, 10-2 in Class 6A, Section 5) with one goal in the victory. The Eagles scored the other goal on an own goal by Homewood.
