Briarwood Christian defeats Hewitt-Trussville in tennis match

The Briarwood Christian School boys’ tennis team defeated Hewitt-Trussville 6-3 in high school tennis action April 12.
The Lions won four singles’ matches and two doubles’ matches against Hewitt-Trussville.
Matt Nichols of Briarwood Christian defeated Carter Williams of Hewitt-Trussville 8-3 in the No. 1 singles’ match. Taylor Brewton of Briarwood Christian defeated Grant Wright of Hewitt-Trussville 8-6 in the No. 3 singles’ match.
Russell Hancock of Briarwood Christian defeated Noah Tippen of Hewitt-Trussville 9-7 in the No. 4 singles’ match. Philip Taylor of Briarwood Christian defeated Corey Higginbotham of Hewitt-Trussville 8-2 in the No. 5 singles’ match.
Russell and Hancock defeated Wright and Tippen 10-8 in the No. 2 doubles’ match. Taylor and Brent Durrett of Briarwood Christian defeated Patrick Young and Mitchel Hester of Hewitt-Trussville 10-5 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.

The Briarwood Christian School girls’ tennis team defeated Hewitt-Trussville 8-1 in high school tennis action April 12.

Katherine Combs of Briarwood Christian defeated Kelly Anne Minor of Hewitt-Trussville 8-2 in the No. 1 singles’ match. Susan Jordan of Briarwood Christian defeated Alex O’Barr of Hewitt-Trussville 8-5 in the No. 2 singles’ match.
Holly Brazeal of Briarwood Christian defeated Savannah Weber of Hewitt-Trussville 9-7 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Catherine Jordan of Briarwood Christian defeated Hannah Fleming of Hewitt-Trussville 8-1 in the No. 4 singles’ match.
Olivia Odom of Briarwood Christian defeated Lowery McNeal of Hewitt-Trussville 8-3 in the No. 5 singles’ match.
Combs and Susan Jordan defeated Minor and Kelly Ward of Hewitt-Trussville 10-4 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Brazeal and Odom defeated O’Barr and Weber 11-10 (7-1) in the No. 2 doubles’ match.
Catherine Jordan and Lauren Bowers of Briarwood Christian defeated Fleming and McNeal 10-3 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
