The Cornerstone Christian School baseball team defeated Bessemer Academy 12-2 in high school baseball action March 21.

Josh Anderson led the Chargers (9-2-1) at the plate as he blasted his third home run of the season.

Hagan Joiner and Austin Davis finished with three hits each. Stephen Young recorded two hits. Dylan Rodgers, Sterling Reither and Adrian Young had one hit each.

With the game tied at 2-2 going into the bottom of the fifth inning, the Chargers plated five runs in each the fifth and sixth innings to clinch the victory.

Cornerstone Christian led off the fifth inning with back-to-back singles by Young and Joiner before Rodgers knocked in Young. Davis drove in Joiner before Anderson capped the inning with a three-run homer.

Austin Davis picked up the win on the mound after giving up two runs with seven strikeouts in a six-inning complete game.
