The Rev. and Mrs. Terry Wayne Hill of Calera announce the engagement of their daughter, Stephanie Faith Hill, to Mr. Daniel Hunter Porter, son of Dr. and Mrs. Curtis Hunter Porter of Troy.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Farris Cecil Hill of Gadsden and Mrs. Norma Kay Williamson and the late Mr. Wesley Hoyt Williamson of Crossville. Stephanie graduated from Calera High School in 2004 and was a 2007 magna cum laude graduate of Troy University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in criminal justice. She will graduate from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in May 2011 with a Juris Doctorate degree. While at Troy University, she was a member of Mortar Board, Order of Omega, Delta Epsilon Iota Honor Society and Who’s Who. She was also a member of Chi Omega sorority, in which she twice served on the executive board and also served as a Trojan Ambassador.

The future groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Willis Porter of Troy and Mr. Sidney Glen Daniel and the late Mrs. Daniel of Luverne. Daniel is a 2004 graduate of Charles Henderson High School and a 2008 magna cum laude graduate of Troy University with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in mathematics. He also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Troy University in August 2010. While at Troy University, he was a member of the Troy University baseball team, Who’s Who, Phi Mu Epsilon and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies. He is currently employed as a systems engineer with Wyle CAS Group in Huntsville.

The wedding will be held on March 12, 2011, at Bluff Park United Methodist Church in Birmingham at 5 p.m. Reception to follow at Calera First UMC.
