Mr. and Mrs. Mark and Dana Byers of Chelsea would like to announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah, to Mr. John R. Wood of Haleyville.

Sarah is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Ann Byers and Mr. and Mrs. James R. Hogan of Birmingham. She graduated from Briarwood Christian School in 2006, and continued on to the University of Alabama to earn her degree in elementary education.

John is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Debbie C. Wood. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John and Earlene Caldwell of Haleyville. John graduated from Haleyville High School in 2005, and majored in entrepreneurship from the University of Alabama. He is now self-employed.

The wedding is set to take place March 12, 2011.
