The Vincent High School girls’ basketball team fell to host Altamont 45-30 in the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 2A, Area 10 championship game Feb. 12.

Kiara Cohill led the Yellow Jackets (10-18) with 16 points.

Pamala Mann added seven points and a team-high 12 rebounds.

Altamont jumped out to a 22-11 lead at halftime. The Yellow Jackets cut the 11-point halftime deficit to one point during the third quarter before Altamont clinched the victory by outscoring Vincent 13-7 in the fourth quarter.

The Yellow Jackets, who reached the sub-region round of the Class 2A playoffs for the second time in three years, will travel to Ranburne in a Class 2A sub-region contest Feb. 17 at 7 p.m.
