The Cornerstone Christian School girls’ basketball team fell to Abbeville Christian Academy 50-41 in the Alabama Independent Schools Association Class 1A Elite Eight on the Huntingdon College campus Feb. 10 in Montgomery.
Jana Kelbie Armstrong and Kailey Goodwin led the Chargers (7-14) with 11 points each.
Amber Uptain added nine points in the defeat.
First-year Cornerstone Christian coach James Lee said he was proud of the Chargers for making it to the AISA Class 1A Elite Eight.
“We played a tough schedule and it helped us at the end of the season,” Lee said. “The girls played hard and I really enjoyed coaching them this year. We played as good as we could have played.”
